The Hardin ng Pagbabago Pilipinas Inc. (HPP) is launching a comprehensive and dynamic farming program that aims to tackle the problem of food security and waste management on Siargao Island in the Philippines. The program, which was initiated in the municipality of San Isidro and has already been implemented in 29 communities in General Luna and other municipalities on the island, aims to establish a resilient livelihood program based on food production in every community. Under the leadership of Executive Director Ma. Monette Atienza-Santos, the HPP is working hard to build partnerships with private, business, government, and civil society organizations to bring about positive change in the community. The program includes capacity building on environmental, social, and economic sustainability for both food producers and their families, as well as members of the community. The HPP's program has already garnered admiration from the community and has produced promising results and social impacts. As the program continues to be fine-tuned to maximize its effectiveness and long-term positive impact, the HPP plans to launch it in the first quarter of this year. All individuals, groups, and sectors that share the same goals and values are invited to join the HPP on this journey toward community sustainability and development. The Hardin ng Pagbabago Program is designed to address the issue of food security and waste management on Siargao Island, which has been a growing concern for the community. By establishing a resilient livelihood program based on food production in every community, the program aims to ensure that residents have access to a steady supply of fresh, locally-grown produce. This will not only help to improve the health and well-being of the community, but it will also contribute to the economic development of the island by creating new opportunities for income generation. In addition to promoting food security, the Hardin ng Pagbabago Program also aims to address the issue of waste management on Siargao Island. The program will focus on implementing strategies to reduce, reuse, and recycle waste, as well as educate the community about the importance of proper waste management. By reducing waste and promoting sustainable practices, the program aims to protect the environment and preserve the island's natural beauty for future generations. As part of the program, the Hardin ng Pagbabago Pilipinas Inc. (HPP) is integrating some innovative farming technologies to improve the efficiency and sustainability of food production on the island. One of the technologies integrated into the program is the JADAM Farming Technology from Korea. This innovative approach to farming combines traditional techniques with modern technology to increase crop yields and reduce the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. JADAM Farming Technology will improve the sustainability of food production on Siargao Island and reduce the negative environmental impact of farming. The HPP is committed to working with a wide range of partners to bring about positive change in the community. This includes private, business, government, and civil society organizations, as well as individuals who share the same goals and values. By building solid partnerships, HPP can leverage the resources and expertise of a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve its objectives. The Hardin ng Pagbabago Program is a multi-faceted approach to community sustainability and development that aims to address the issues of food security and waste management on Siargao Island. By focusing on capacity building, environmental sustainability, and economic development, the program aims to have a long-term positive impact on the community and the island as a whole. The HPP invites all individuals, groups, and sectors that share its goals and values to join them in this journey towards a brighter future for Siargao Island.
